What are some suggestions for dealing with dark circles under my eyes?
Category: Make-up

Hi Mary,

I am starting to notice dark circles under my eyes that I am having a hard time with. I have had to work extra this year, but I don't feel very tired and so I don't think it could be that. My boyfriend noticed last weekend and asked if I was feeling OK. How can I treat them so that they will begin to go away?

-Nancy

Dear Nancy,

Many people are plagued by unsightly dark circles under their eyes. Dark circles — or bags, as they are sometimes called — under the eyes cause people to look worn out and definitely prevent both men and women from looking their best. In many cases dark circles under the eyes are an indication of other problems.

What Causes Dark Circles?
For some people this can be a genetic condition. But for many others, dark circles are simply a symptom of fatigue or dehydration. Therefore, the best way to rid yourself of dark circles under the eyes is to get adequate rest and drink sufficient water. Another possible cause is iron or other vitamin deficiency, so check to see if that could be the cause. If you suspect that you do have a vitamin deficiency, I would try Robanda Triple Action Eye Gel as it is specially formulated to revitalize tired eyes with 100% pure Vitamin A.

Treating Dark Circles
If getting more sleep and drinking more water or getting adequate nutrition doesn't seem to be helping, or if you need a quick fix, then makeup is a good option. A concealer that matches your foundation color can camouflage the dark circles—sometimes so well that you won't even know they were there. When you apply the concealer, in addition to making sure that it matches your skin tone, you should also be sure to blend it in well so that it looks natural.

You can also try putting a cool washcloth over your eyes for about ten or fifteen minutes at night or before your big event. Not only can this help to reduce the circles under your eyes, but it's a great relaxation technique, as well!

Or, if you want a more long-lasting solution, the best thing to do is to consult a surgeon. He or she can tell you about the various surgical and nonsurgical options that are available, such as injections or skin tightening.

No matter which other options you choose to rid yourself of those dreaded dark circles, start by taking good care of yourself. There's no substitute for a healthy you!
