Dear Mary,
I have a lot of facial hairs and I have been using a tweezer to remove the hair and it is leaving me a lot of dark spots. Can I stop that? If so, what product should I use? Also, is using the tweezer to remove facial hair good for me?
- Denise
Thank you very much for your question, Denise. As you know, skin care is a very important part of our beauty. Hair removal from the skin can be a tedious task if we go about it the wrong way. Fortunately, you've come to the right place. Verseo.com knows hair removal and is well equipped with the products you need to properly go about removing unwanted and unsightly hair.
To answer to your question - yes, this can be stopped. What many people don't realize is that tweezing can actually be dangerous to your skin. Many people encounter problems when they use tweezers to tweeze out unwanted hair. Skin Care guru and celebrity body waxing star Sophia Stavron notes that "without awareness of how to manipulate these little instruments (tweezers), consumers can and do inflict serious damage to their skin and hair follicles." It is because of this that many states require a cosmetologist or aesthetician's license to do hair removal like tweezing.
One common problem is that the skin can become irritated and even discolored when you tweeze the hair at the root. It's a trauma to the skin. A shock to your body. The pores directly surrounding your follicle can get damaged or torn and appear dark or even discolored. This is due to skin trauma, and blood rushes to the surface of your skin, much like it would with a pimple. In many cases this is temporary, and in time your skin will return to its normal color. Waxing, while able to cover larger areas of hair in a shorter time, can be even more painful and can cause increased irritation and redness. And an expensive esthetician bill at the salon. Wait - they expect us to pay them to inflict pain on our bodies? Ouch.
If you're experiencing this problem, a much better solution would be to try an alternative to tweezing or waxing. Take a look at Verseo's Epen Pro. It is my favorite solution to a girl's worst nightmare of unwanted facial hair. You can use this product to treat individual hairs, one at a time, as you would while tweezing - or you can use the adhesive pads that come with it to cover larger areas at one time. And unlike tweezing and waxing which simply removes the hair, the ePen actually kills the hair follicle, preventing hair from growing back.
There's also the Verseo epad, which uses the same concept as the epen Pro but is made for larger jobs. You know - legs, thighs, arms - wherever you need it. What I like most is that it is used in conjunction with conductive gel that electrically zaps your unwanted hair so that it is a permanent solution. It is easy to use and much less painful than tweezing or opening up a hefty electrolysis bill - in fact, it doesn't hurt one bit!
So take heart, Denise - you're not alone in this, honey. While it may not be fun to deal with facial hair, having the right tools can make it much more stress free. So you can just focus on being beautiful.
