You just broke up with your boyfriend, and you're toying with the idea of chopping off your hair to go for a bold new look. Is now the right time to take such a drastic measure in changing your appearance?
Many experts warn against lopping off your locks post break-up, as doing so creates another life change that may be too big of a stressor during heartbreak. However, many also believe that a fresh, new look is just what the 'get over him' and 'get on with your bad self' guru ordered.
Just look at all those Hollywood starlets who appear on the red carpet days after their relationships crash and burn, sporting bobs and pixie cuts and looking, 'fierce,' as Tyra Banks would say. A new do' helps redefine your new life, moving forward, and may lift your spirits and instill confidence while boosting your self-esteem.
Many women also have the, "I'll show him," thought in mind when going to the salon for a drastic haircut. Perhaps you secretly want to run into your ex, looking totally different and reinvented... sassy and independent.
The very best reason to get your haircut after a break-up is because YOU want to, and because it will make you feel renewed and refreshed. "Out with the old, in with the new," as they say. Don't visit your hairstylist because you want to get revenge on your ex, who always mentioned you'd look cute with a 'Posh' pixie cut and now won't be around to revel in your new look. Get whichever cut you choose with only your opinion in mind.
If you're a bit too tentative to do anything severe to your mane, going in for a nice trim or some subtle highlights may help put the bounce back in your step too. In my own experience, I once chopped off several inches of my hair after a bad break-up, and I really regretted doing so. I wished I had gone with a trim, as I waited over a year for my hair to grow out again.
Thinking of getting a makeover hairdo? Schedule your salon visit for a week away, so you have plenty of time to mull over your decision, and either change your mind, or feel very comfortable with your choice to move forward. Odds are, your ex will regret losing you, no matter what your hair looks like!

Hello. By learning to discover and value our ordinariness, we nurture a friendliness toward ourselves and the world that is the essence of a healthy soul.
I am from Chile and now teach English, tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "The only exception we would make to recommending a professional resume is for entry level."
:D Thanks in advance. Ola.
